LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Arkansas State Health Alliance for Records Exchange (SHARE) is proud to welcome CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas with its 35+ clinics located across Arkansas to the statewide health information exchange network. The network electronically connects Arkansas hospitals, physicians, and clinicians to exchange patient health information safely and securely. Connecting to SHARE allows CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas to further augment its integration footprint while improving access to a patient’s information for diagnosis and treatment. CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas has integrated SHARE into its Health Information Exchange (HIE) application—GEMMS EMR System—to help improve patient safety and minimize any potential medication or medical errors while securely sharing clinical results statewide. Heart Clinic Arkansas now has access to Admission, Discharge and Transfers (ADT); laboratory results; radiology reports; medication; diagnosis; procedures; allergies; plan of care; and discharge summary information.
“CHI St. Vincent participation in the statewide health information exchange network will allow us to become a more integrated health system and our patients’ primary care providers and local hospitals will have the latest plan of care for our cardiology patients,” said Chad Aduddell, CEO of CHI St. Vincent.
“Through SHARE, providers at CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas can improve both direct care delivery and coordination by having ever-present access to clinical information, such as medical history, previous diagnoses, lab tests, medications, and allergies”, said Jason Evans, director of operations at CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas. Additionally, access is available to historical medical data on patients using SHARE’s virtual health records allows for gap closures and reduction in potential readmissions.
