Autism in Motion Clinics are now Coordinating Care Delivery Via SHARE’s Virtual Health Record

August 2019 —Little Rock, Arkansas

The State Health Alliance for Records Exchange (SHARE) is excited to announce that Autism in Motion Clinics is now using SHARE, one of the country’s largest and most robust health information exchanges (HIE). Autism in Motion Clinic’s care teams are now accessing clinical information across participating entities for patients who have authorized sharing their medical information. This allows them to have accurate supplies, equipment and products for their patients that range from children to young adults.

Accessing patient information through this secure exchange allows Autism in Motion Clinics significant access to better coordination with hospitals, family doctors and pediatricians across the state to see a more robust picture of their patients’ medical histories, producing efficient and safe continuity of care. They now have the ability to access the Virtual Health Record (VHR), which displays information as a traditional clinical chart, with tabs to separate patient information into groups for easy chart review. The VHR retrieves and shows all available data for a selected patient gathered from all participants within SHARE to enable a single, consolidated view of a patient’s health history.

Autism in Motion Clinics can now view the following patient data through SHARE’s VHR:

  • Admission, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) reports
  • Allergies, Problems, Medications
  • Demographic and Insurance information
  • Laboratory results
  • Radiology reports, image links
  • Discharge Summaries
  • Continuity of Care Documents
  • Progress Notes
  • Immunizations
  • Vitals

In Arkansas, where many large and small health systems use different electronic health record (EHR) systems, this is a particularly important milestone because the single interface to SHARE enables Autism in Motion Clinics to better coordinate with providers and patients in Arkansas.

Using the VHR option, Autism in Motion Clinics have an up-to-the-minute view of a patient’s health history at the point of care. This puts the power of information and collaboration in the hands of the health care team—enabling more accurate, faster and more effective treatment, and better outcomes for the patient.

About Autism in Motion Clinics:

Autism in Motion Clinics practices therapy that is always one-on-one. Their patients range from toddlers to young adults. They also spend between 15-30 hours per week with each patient. Their mission is to ensure every child with autism has the opportunity to live a happy, fulfilling life. They believe intensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy will give them that chance. ABA immerses children in a caring, positive environment, where they work one-on-one with a therapist on a treatment schedule specially tailored for them. They've brought ABA therapy to places it's never been available and transformed the story of autism for the kids and families they serve. They promote the statement that autism defines a disorder, not a person.

Autism in Motion Clinics was born out of a need for better autism care for children in Arkansas. They strive to provide the highest quality service and are constantly looking to bring life-changing therapy to more people in more places.
